Siblings are part of the care ecosystem. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, siblings often experience changes in routine, attention, school support, and emotional safety. Student researchers at Lumora reviewed family-centered care literature to better understand how sibling needs are described and where support systems can improve. Research suggests that siblings benefit from honest age-appropriate explanations, predictable routines, and trusted adults who can help them express worry without guilt. Sibling support should not be treated as secondary.
